EPIC – Early Identification of Autism

EPIC: Early Identification & Referral of Children with Autism (EPIC Autism) (2009 – 2011)

NJAAP partnered with Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s K Hovnanian Children’s Hospital to conduct the EPIC Early Identification of Austism program for primary care providers in Monmouth County. EPIC Autism focused on the early identification and referral of children with autism, and helping community primary care providers to connect families with appropriate community resources and supports. The trainings focused on identifying young children 18 months – 5 years with signs and symptoms suggestive of ASD. Early identification will lead to early and appropriate referrals for children in need of further evaluation and/or other community resources such as early intervention.
