She has experience over the past 20 years collaborating with community-based organizations, health care providers, governmental organizations and consumers to asses maternal and child health needs and to provide services and programs which improve the health of women of childbearing age.

Robyn led her organization’s effort to implement CenteringPregnancy® in NJ by receiving a four year, $1.7 million Strong Start grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to improve pregnancy outcomes. The goal of this program was to evaluate various methods of providing prenatal care to see what program(s) were associated with the best birth outcomes. CJFHC served as the convener to implement the model New Jersey. NJ’s Strong Start project supported group care for women enrolled in Medicaid at seven participating provider partner sites. In total, 1,193 women participated in the Centering Program. Results indicated Strong Start was effective in producing significantly improved birth outcomes for participants particularly for Black and Hispanic women.

Robyn is the immediate past NJ Section Chair for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), was a member of AWHONN’s Expert Panel on Maternal Mortality, serves as a consultant for AWHONN and their Merck for Mothers Postbirth Warning Signs Initiative and is a member of AWHONN’s Public Policy Committee.
