About Us

Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health is committed to providing comprehensive, equitable and the highest quality of care to all children in the state of New Jersey. Our children’s network is comprised of two children’s hospitals – Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune – and a large network of pediatric subspecialists and pediatricians.

With access to over 50 pediatricians, and over 200 pediatric specialists in more than 30 subspecialties across the state, children will receive specialized and expert care.

  • Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center are ranked #1 in the state and top 20 in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Both are the only hospitals in New Jersey to rank in the newly released report.
  • Joseph M. Sanzari’s Children’s Hospital’s clinical pediatric epilepsy work was recently highlighted in the Second Opinion podcast 
  • Kenneth Lieberman, M.D. was awarded by the National Kidney Foundation with the 2022 Excellence in Care Award.
  • The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) has recognized Brett Biller, PsyD and HMH for the new standards for child maltreatment evaluations. The standards are updated every few years and we would like to congratulate Dr. Biller on the recognition.
  • Namrata G. Jain, M.D. has been appointed to a prestigious three-year term on the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Pediatric Transplantation Committee for UNOS, a private, non-profit organization that serves as the organ transplant system in the United States. This committee oversees policies for multiple organ transplant specialities.
  • Vincent Zales, M.D. spoke at a recent conference Cardiology 2022: 25th Annual Update on Pediatric and Congenital Cardiovascular Disease, led by CHOP.
  • Guillermo Hidalgo, M.D., Division Chief of Pediatric Nephrology, has been approved by the International Society of Nephrology for the first, in person, hands-on workshop in Latin America on the management of pediatric acute kidney injury.
  • The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Symposium, held at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with speakers from both Children’s Hospitals, had over 200 community physician participants.
  • Harpreet Pall, M.D., MBA has accepted invitation to serve as editor of special health equity in gastroenterology edition of journal “Children”.
