Wendy Morriarty, RN, MPH, is the Vice President and Chief Medicaid Officer for Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, which currently serves over 1.2M Medicaid and Medicare members. In this role, Ms. Morriarty is accountable for the success and financial viability of Horizon BCBSNJ’s Medicaid products. She is responsible for the direct leadership and strategic direction for Medicaid clinical operations delivery including Medicaid Care Management Programs, Managed Long Term Care Services and Supports (MLTSS) and Dual Special Needs Programs.  She has a passion for implementing innovation solutions to assist in meeting the healthcare and psychosocial needs of our communities’ most vulnerable populations.

Ms. Morriarty brings over 20 years of health care experience. Prior to her joining Horizon, she held the position of Senior Vice President at Navvis Healthcare where she provided end-to-end total population health management solutions for health systems, health plans and physician networks.  Ms. Morriarty has also held the position of State President at WellCare Health Plans that served Medicaid, MLTSS, Specialty Medicaid Behavioral Health and Medicare Advantage Members in the state of Hawaii.  She previously served as the Policy Chair for the Hawaii Association of Health Plans. She currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of Medicaid Health Plans of America, MHPA.

Ms. Morriarty received her Master’s degree from University of South Florida in Public Health, Health Care Management and Organizations and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from State University of New York, Albany.  She has presented nationally on health care topics including on Managed Long Term Care Services and Supports Programs at the annual Medicaid Managed Care Congress.
